Location : Auckland region

Duration : Permanent (five days per week Monday to Friday)
Wages : $29.66 per hour (minimum 30 hours and maximum 50 hours per week
earning $ 889.80 up to $1483 )

Description

Fitter-Welder (Automotive)’s work involves supporting the mechanical team at our yard in the upkeep and repairs of vehicles. The incumbent must be available to work between 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday. There may at times be a requirement to work on weekends.

Eligibility Requirements for the Role:

Three years experience OR NZ Register Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
Previous working experience in vehicle maintenance preferred
Drugs and alcohol free (test)

Key responsibilities

• Performing structural repair on vehicles and the fabrication on vehicles

• Fitting fabricated metal parts and assembling metal parts and sub-assemblies to automobiles and mechanical equipment

• Interpreting factory diagrams

• Cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines

• Welding panels and structural components of mechanical equipment

• Supporting vehicle repairs, and maintaining mechanical equipment in workshop

• Physically fit with good knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems

• Awareness of health and safety requirements and high safety-consciousness

• A keen eye for detail
