Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery - Gallery Assistants - Five Permanent Part-Time
Built in 1919, the Sarjeant Gallery is one of New Zealand's oldest purpose-built galleries.
In November 2024 Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery will reopen its doors in its newly refurbished and extended facility at Pukenamu. With a stunning building, a unique collection of over 8000 items including artworks and archival material and a dynamic exhibition program it's easy to understand why the gallery is recognised as one of the best regional galleries in New Zealand.
About the role:
We are looking for people who are passionate about customer service and art to be part of a small but busy team. As a member of the front of house staff you will be responsible for providing a warm welcome and excellent retail customer service while promoting Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery. If you are friendly, thrive on variety and enjoy a challenge, we would love to hear from you.
About you:
- Organised
- Takes pride in their work
- Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Articulate and able to effectively communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.
- A strong interest in art and design
- Have prior retail, merchandising and/or administration experience would be advantageous
- 25.5 Hours Per Week - Mon 8.30am to 3pm, Tue - Wed & Sun 10am to 5pm
- 25 Hours Per Week - Mon - Tue 10am to 5pm, Wed & Sun 11am to 5.30pm
- 23 Hours Per Week - Mon - Tue 11am to 5.30pm, Thu 10am to 3pm, Sun 10am to 5pm
- 16.5 Hours Per Week - Fri 10am to 5pm, Sat 10am to 3pm, Sun 8.30am to 3pm
- 20 Hours Per Week - Thu 11am to 5.30pm, Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm, Sat 11am to 5.30pm
