This is a 12 month fixed term position that can be based in either Auckland or Hamilton
Maintaining compliance to Fonterra’s policies and standards is critical to the delivery of our strategy. This pivotal role will oversee the Group Policy and Compliance Frameworks, ensuring they are effectively deployed, monitored and continuously improved. The successful candidate will engage with stakeholders across the organisation to provide assurance to Governance and Management forums regarding our compliance management processes and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain and enhance Fonterra’s Policy and Compliance Frameworks.
- Deliver the programme to assess the maturity of our compliance management processes and controls, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain a centralised view of how Fonterra’s key Regulatory Obligations are managed across the business.
- Manage and enhance the Co-op wide Annual Policy Commitment process, including communication, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Lead the review process of Fonterra’s Global Policies, coordinating with Policy and Content Owners
- Oversee Fonterra’s Ethics Portal, facilitating the declaration of conflicts of interest and external governance appointments, while driving continuous improvement.
- Conduct ongoing research into compliance management best-practice, building strong internal and external networks.
- Collaborate with Group Risk colleagues to implement the Group Risk Framework, with a focus on identifying and understanding compliance risks.

You must be highly organised, proactive, bring second-to-none communication skills and an ability to effectively engage with people from all areas of the Co-op. You will need to be resilient, with strong stakeholder management skills, and have excellent attention to detail. Naturally curious and an ability to build rapport quickly will help you succeed in this rewarding role. To be successful you will need:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyse complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Proven experience in policy and/or compliance management, ideally within a corporate or regulatory environment, would be beneficial
