Join the Ministry for the Environment and play a pivotal role in establishing a new function to implement the fast-track approvals legislation. This permanent opportunity offers the chance to work at pace in a dynamic environment, collaborating across government to deliver impactful outcomes. Be part of shaping and driving a new, high-priority initiative that will help streamline and accelerate critical projects across New Zealand
This team would be responsible for implementing the new Fast Track Approvals legislation, and remaining accountabilities under the COVID Fast Track Legislation until work under this regime is completed.
The purpose of this role is to contribute to operational deliverables under the Fast Track Approvals legislation. This role works with the Senior Advisors assessing applications for Ministerial referral, coordinating with multiple agencies and stakeholders to delivery timely and high-quality advice to Ministers.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

At least 3 - 5 years' experience in central and/or local government including hands on experience in processing resource consent applications under the RMA, Fast-track Acts or similar legislation.
Degree in environmental science, resource management, planning, engineering, law or related field, or equivalent experience.
Good machinery of government experience and high attention to detail to support effective governance and delivery.

Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for this role is $79,598 to $96,372 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
