He aha te tūranga - About the role:
The Major Incident Support Team (MIST) plays a crucial role in ensuring that Hato Hone St John delivers a world-leading response during major incidents and large events. As Volunteer Team Leader, you will provide leadership, direction, and management support to the MIST Volunteers.
Additionally, you will:
- Ensure training on deployment as well as participate in or leading training for our MIST volunteers.
- Support the MIST Volunteer Team Manager in all activities including ensuring 24/7 availability of resources and a maximum of 30 minute deployment time frame.
- Participate in recruitment and selection and induction processes for new members.
- As well as other duties that may arise.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe - About you:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in a similar role is desirable as well as CIMS3.
- A current, clean full NZ Driver's Licence, with the ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles confidently.
- A First Aid certificate
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- To be flexible, resilient and able to maintain performance under pressure
- To be physically fit
- To be 18 years of age or over
