Ocean Freight Manager

- Customer and Shipment Coordination: Liaise with customers, shipping companies, and co-loaders to arrange shipments and meet customer needs, ensuring high levels of customer service and timely follow-up on outstanding issues.
- Documentation and Communication: Prepare and manage bookings and documentation accurately and promptly, maintaining effective communication with all relevant stakeholders.
- Financial Processing and Monitoring: Process work-in-progress (WIP), invoicing, costs, and accruals correctly and timely, while monitoring job profit through ongoing reports.
- Management and Improvement: Identify and coordinate improvements, communication, and training within the department, aligning operations with business and management direction.
- Team Support and Development: Provide proactive support to the team, encouraging personal development and growth, and ensuring safety is a top priority.
- Training and Oversight: Oversee and provide training to the local team and COE Ocean team, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Experience in ocean freight products including carriers and co-loaders.
- Knowledge of Global Forwarding operations (i.e.carriers, equipment types/sizes, and clients & services).
- Local & International logistics market knowledge.
- Strong computer skills, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and CW1.
- Experience dealing with customers and internal stakeholders, with a strong customer focus and service ethic.
- Results-orientated, Resilient and a ‘can do’ attitude.
