Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
The Partners- Small Business team are on the lookout for talented individuals across New Zealand to join our team, exceed customer expectations and grow our market share. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to not only showcase your talents, but also grow professionally with the help of a supportive and committed team.
You'll be working with some of our more complex small business customers, responsible for managing and growing that portfolio, as well as enhancing our partnerships with those customers. You will be able to help our Small Business customers achieve their goals, while also being out in market building relationships with future BNZ customers.
What are the key day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Manage a portfolio of new and existing small business customers, with the goal of enhancing customer satisfaction and credit risk profile.
- Be a trusted partner for clients by demonstrating an understanding of their business.
- Understand BNZ specialist offering and refer customers as appropriate.
- Create and maintain a proactive and structured call cycle and frequent contact with all customers.
- Ensure you are aware of industry activities and maintain strong networking relationships with market advocates.

We need someone who is motivated by connecting with new opportunities - not afraid to put themselves out there or pick up the phone to see how we can help. You'll be seen as a "trusted advisor" and build confidence by demonstrating your ability to work effectively and efficiently in supporting them meet their financial goals.
What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?
Proven lending experience and an understanding of business financials is essential to this role. You'll also demonstrate business development or previous experience acquiring new business. Being a Partner role, it is essential that you can demonstrate where you have successful managed customer relationships and work effectively within a team, and you'll enjoy getting out into the small business community and forging long lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
This role can be based out of any of the BNZ Partners Centres across Auckland, Tauranga or Wellington. We want the successful candidate to connect with their local Partners Team, so there is an expectation to be based from a Partners Centre a minimum of 3 days per week, with the remainder from a branch. This is not a remote working role.
