People and Capability Coordinator

The opportunity
Working in Wellington Water's People and Capability team you will provide day to day coordination across a variety of functions that include onboarding, early in career programmes, HR reporting activities, and employee general enquiries relating to payroll, leave and employment. You will also support general team administration, learning and coordination activities.
Leveraging your advisory skills, you will have the opportunity to apply privacy and employment legislation to answer general enquiries and provide input that continues the development of best practice within the People and Capability function.
About you
This is an opportunity for you to add value and play a pivotal role in the culture of our organisation, to be successful you will:
- demonstrate your interest in advancing a career in HR either through previous study or work experience
- have experience interpreting legislation such as the Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act and Privacy Act in a work setting
- enjoy both face to face, written and verbal interactions with a wide variety of individuals from a range of backgrounds
- have basic understanding of accounts administrative to undertake purchasing administrative tasks
- have excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to details
- have experience utilising a range of Cloud, Microsoft, and general business applications to create reports, create and utilise templates and concisely manage information
- have an understanding of payroll legislation and processing would be advantageous but not a requirement
