This role is open to remote applicants located in Australia or New Zealand to complement the working relationships within the existing team. Please note, the role is hybrid for applicants located in Brisbane.
About the Team
At Compono, our Marketing team - within Platform Growth - is all about boosting the Compono brand and spreading the word about our awesome platform in the markets we’re targeting. We’re not just a colouring-in department —we have fun creating engaging content and campaigns, coming up with new ideas, and working hard in a flexible team setting.
We collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success & Support teams, crafting compelling content, delivering clear product messaging, and educating our future audience—all with the aim of driving growth and engagement for the Compono Platform.
We focus on making sure our product messaging is clear and targeted, keeping our clients informed and connected, while positioning Compono just right in the bigger market. By gathering customer insights, we fuel a responsive product development process and a forward-thinking marketing strategy, ensuring Compono’s solutions stay relevant and valuable as things evolve.
About You
As the Product Marketing Specialist, your job is all about supporting the development and sharing of our product's story, both internally and externally, guided by our Head of Marketing. You’ll be the go-to person for integrating market insights into product development and championing Compono's solutions. Your mission? Make sure our messaging and positioning stay spot-on across the teams and to the outside world.
Your Responsibilities:
- Product Messaging and Positioning: Collaborate with the Growth and Product teams to develop and communicate clear product positioning and messaging for both internal and external audiences.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to inform product positioning, pricing strategies, and identify new opportunities.
- Sales and Marketing Collateral: Assist in creating sales guides, playbooks, presentations, and other marketing materials to support sales and marketing teams in effectively promoting Compono’s products.
- Customer Discovery and Insights: Work closely with the Growth and Product teams to facilitate customer discovery processes, gather client feedback, and provide actionable insights to guide product development.
- Product Launch Communication: Support the communication of new product launches, updates, and roadmap developments to internal teams, clients, and other external stakeholders.
- Business Development Support: Act as a subject matter expert in webinars, events, and sales qualification processes, and collaborate with Growth and Marketing teams to monitor the sales pipeline.
- External Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, industry analysts, and partners to enhance Compono’s market positioning.
- Documentation and Presentations: Contribute to the preparation of stakeholder-ready documentation, including research findings, product concepts, and strategy presentations.
- Product Marketing: 2-5 years of product marketing experience, including at least 1 year in a market-facing role (e.g., delivering presentations to customers).
- Market Research and Analysis: Minimum of 2 years experience in competitor analysis and market research, with the ability to generate actionable insights for product development.
- Collaboration: Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with multiple business units, such as Growth, Product, and Customer Success, and to drive initiatives forward.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to tell the “story” of the products across internal and external audiences.
- Marketing Strategy: Demonstrated experience in implementing and evolving marketing strategies, creating compelling collateral and product messaging.
- Technical Proficiency: Competency in relevant tools such as data analytics, project management, CMS, CRM (e.g., Hub Spot), and graphic or video editing software (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva).
- Curiosity and Research Skills: A proactive approach to research and curiosity to uncover insights, connect product features to business benefits, and drive continuous improvement.
- Public Speaking: Comfortable speaking in front of groups, with the ability to communicate product concepts effectively.
