Programme & Change Manager Personal Alerting, PSN – Fixed Term – Wellington

Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role:

The Public Safety Network (PSN) Programme is a whole of government recently established critical communications capability with the purpose of enabling Emergency Services to work in new ways to deliver information to the frontline.

The Programme and Change Manager Personal Alerting, PSN will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the Personal Alerting Programme directly delivering strategic outcomes within Fire and Emergency New Zealand. Reporting to the Business Change Manager, PSN, you will be responsible for identifying the impact to Fire and Emergency following the shutdown of the Spark Paging Network. You will be tasked with the day to day management of the Personal Alerting Project, lead and plan the programme strategy producing clear and measurable results whilst leading and managing analysis and change activity.

This is a Fixed Term position starting ASAP until 30 June 2025.

This dynamic, fast paced role requires flexibility, resilience, and excellent prioritisation skills. It would be an advantage to have significant experience working in the emergency sector. You will be a big picture thinker with a strategic focus and an ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Strong communication skills is key to establish stakeholder engagement and support across various levels internally and externally.

To be successful in this role, we’d expect you will have:

  • Ability to lead and implement strategy
  • Positive relationship-building and communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills with a relevant qualification
  • Experience working within change management
  • Telecommunications experience desirable but not essential
  • Familiar or have worked in an emergency services environment

The salary range for this role is $134,190-$149,100 (pro-rated) dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
