Project Manager - Organistional Change

We're looking for a talented Organisational Change Project Manager to join our team and lead transformative initiatives.

Korero mo te turanga - About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for the project management and change leadership in the delivery of organisational change initiatives as part of the Ministry's Baseline Programme. The Baseline Programme's objective is to deliver a number of initiatives that enable the Ministry to manage growing cost pressures and realign services with government priorities. The roles have a responsibility for driving the deliverables, coordination and outcomes of a number of projects within the programme across the project lifecycle. Accountabilities include:

  • Lead and project manage the assigned organisational change projects by managing the scoping of the project, mapping interdependencies, engaging with stakeholders to manage expectations and negotiate resources, mitigating risks, ensuring delivery will always align with the Ministry's long-term expectations and short-term objectives.
  • Manage and monitor project budgets, including the provision of accurate forecasts to the Finance Division.
  • Manage the production of all project documentation (including appropriate registers, the acceptance and hand over of project deliverables).
  • Develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with project stakeholders, including managing the expectations that the project objectives remain aligned to the strategic framework.

The full salary range for this role is $124,674 and $146,675 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% Kiwi Saver employer contribution.

We'd like to hear from you if you are an experienced Organisational Change Project Manager with the following skills and experience:

  • The role requires a minimum of five years demonstrated successful project delivery of a range of projects and has successfully managed more than one project simultaneously.
  • Experience leading multi-functional project teams with multiple work steams and across multiple divisions, both onshore and offshore.
  • Experience leading projects in organisational change.
Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Maori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Maori (the Maori worldview) into your work.
