He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
Come join our passionate and dedicated Surgical Nursing Team based at Tauranga Hospital, where you will become an integral part of a highly skilled and supportive department. We value professional growth and offer opportunities for career advancement through the Professional Development and Recognition Program (PDRP) and postgraduate education.
As a Registered Nurse in our surgical ward, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients before, during, and after surgery. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Your role will involve post-operative care, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, wound care, and providing patient education.
We are offering a 11-month fixed term part-time position working 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week) Sunday – Monday.

We are seeking candidates who possess the following:

  • Flexibility to work rostered shifts including morning, afternoons, and nights.
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Previous experience working as a Nurse in an acute surgical setting.

Previous Bowel, Urology and upper GI nursing experience would be an advantage but not necessary.
