The role/Te mahi
Our research group is exploring the use of high intensity interval training (HIIT) to improve postoperative outcomes and we need assistance to conduct exercise interventions.

Some key tasks include:

Recruiting patients.
Training patients.
Setting up laboratory equipment.
Recording data.

We have multiple positions available, and these roles are variable hours roles. Work hours will depend on patient availability and will be by negotiation with successful candidate(s).
Roles are available in Dunedin (Dunedin Hospital) and Invercargill (Kew Hospital).
Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

Excellent organisational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish patient rapport.
Able to interact compassionately and tactfully with participants.
Able to work independently as well as within a strong team environment.
Willingness to learn new skills.

Experience with cardiopulmonary exercise testing and/or exercise training would be ideal, but full training will be given.
The appointees will need to hold a current first aid certificate for this role. Ideally candidates will have this at the time of application, but if not, the candidate will be given opportunity to obtain this before commencing.

These are fixed-term, variable hours, appointments, available until 31 January 2026. The hours will vary in any given week, by negotiation.
