Unipol Recreation Services is based at the University Plaza in a state-of-the-art facility offering a wide range of recreational opportunities. The role/Te mahi
The Outdoor Rental Coordinator is part of the Unipol team and reports to the Assistant Manager (Fitness and Facility).
- To market the Outdoor Rental Centre as a unique point of difference for students, staff and public at the University of Otago.
- To serve an International Student Community ensuring a safe, positive and fun outdoor experience.
- To provide a healthy and balanced perspective to University Life, guided by the Pastoral Code and the University of Otago Ōritetanga Learner Success Plan.
- To provide a Te Tiriti-led Outdoor Rental Centre approach focusing on appropriate Tikanga Māori.
- To provide guidance in outdoor safety equipment.
As the Outdoor Rental Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our Outdoor Rental Centre aligns with the principles and values of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will work closely with the Unipol team and customers to create an inclusive, safe and rewarding rental experience.
Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
- Experience in working within a system of rentals and equipment maintenance.
- Strong understanding and appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and their application in an outdoor rental context.
- A passion for and commitment to ensuring students, staff and the public have an outstanding recreational experience.

Further details/Pūroko
This is permanent, full-time (30 hours per week) position, based in Dunedin. The right applicant will be available to work between 11am-7pm Monday - Friday and occasional weekend work. Some flexibility can occur for the right applicant.
The position has been evaluated as a Level 4 position with a starting salary between $59,285 and $63,651 per annum.
