  • Onsite role located in scenic Tokaanu
Genesis owns and operates a portfolio of Renewable and Thermal generation assets across New Zealand; the spread of locations and fuel types in our portfolio gives us significant operating flexibility. The Tongariro Power Scheme is a highly productive Hydro Power Scheme thanks to its wide catchment area and large storage capacity to feed our 3 Generating Plants Mangaio, Rangipo and Tokaanu.
About the role:
This role presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to take ownership of a wide range of responsibilities, to make an impact across multiple locations, and drive improvements while building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Our Resource Planning team is diverse and specialised, responsible for managing contractor activities and coordinating facilities maintenance to ensure site assets are well-maintained and aligned with asset management plans. Based on site at Tokaanu, this role will also involve optimising resource use across key asset management activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient project delivery to support Genesis' operational goals. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinate with site crews to plan resources and workstreams, QA work orders, job plans, estimates, PM schedules, and asset data.
  • Collaborate with teams and contractors to maintain facilities.
  • Guide teams to meet planning and scheduling KPIs with Maintenance Managers.
  • Manage maintenance contracts, acting as Relationship Manager as required.
  • Oversee contractor schedules and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Monitor contractor performance for quality and timeliness.
  • Build contractor relationships, support onboarding, and ensure compliance.
  • Engage stakeholders to ensure outages are well-resourced and scheduled.
About you:
You're a team player with exceptional communication skills, excellent commercial acumen and a deep understanding of modern maintenance practices. Prior experience in contract management or facilities management within a related industry would be a valuable asset. Experience with computerised maintenance management systems and data analysis is highly desirable. Other key skills ideally include;
  • Three+ years' experience in a planning and scheduling or contract management role.
  • Experience with plant maintenance (similar industry or heavy rotational).
  • A mechanical or electrical trade preferred.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in planning, project management or similar, preferred.
  • Proven experience in data management and Microsoft applications.
  • High level of attention to detail.
If you excel at managing multiple work streams, are passionate about continuously improving processes, and want to influence a significant part of the renewable energy industry, this could be the perfect role for you.
