Life is a collection of small moments: meaningful moments, challenging moments, moments to remember. At Te Whatu Ora – South Canterbury we want to support our people to enjoy more of the moments that matter. Are you ready to join us?

A permanent part- time, Registered Nurse position has become available to join the multidisciplinary team within the Oncology and Medical Day unit. Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Coordinator, this role provides care and support to patients needing IV/SC treatments for Medical Oncology and long term Medical conditions.

The person for this role will ideally be IV certified although training and support can be provided. Other role requirements to be successful include:

  • Registration with the Nursing Council of NZ and a current APC
  • Significant level of relevant clinical experience
  • Able to follow and provide best practice guidelines ensuring the delivery of quality care
  • Can incorporate and educate patients and family/whanau in their care
  • Comfortable with Trendcare reporting or willing to learn

We are open to nurses that have not administered antineoplastic (chemotherapy) and immunotherapies for oncology patients, but are motivated to be trained up to be able to perform this role. We are looking for someone passionate to join our close-knit team and be part of a nurse-led service that provides treatments and support to patients in our care.

With us, you’re more than just a number; you’re part of a team where everyone knows your name.

On top of all that, you’ll get to enjoy the fantastic Timaru lifestyle: between the beach and the mountains, work-life balance is truly achievable here.
