Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Partnerships and Harm Prevention Team supports implementation of cross-agency work programmes aimed at combating organised crime and building community resilience. The purpose of this team is to leverage our partnership and prevention opportunities across the system in order to make New Zealand the hardest place for organised criminals to do business.
As a Strategic Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing coordination and governance support for the Transnational Organised Crime (TNOC) Strategy which brings together 20 government agencies to tackle TNOC by setting out a framework for a more coordinated, whole-of-system approach, with an increased focus on prevention. More information on the Strategy can be found here: https://www.police.govt.nz/about-us/publication/transnational-organised-crime-new-zealand-our-strategy-2020-2025
The TNOC Strategic Coordinator role will involve working collaboratively with various Police workgroups and government agencies to facilitate and coordinate cross-agency implementation efforts. This role presents an exciting opportunity for anyone with a keen interest, relevant experience in the Transnational Organised Crime space and those who are passionate about driving crime prevention outcomes for all New Zealanders.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide secretariat services to the relevant governance groups at Deputy Chief Executive and management levels,
- Provide support to the Executive Level Chairs of the governance groups to execute their roles, including written and verbal briefings,
- Facilitate and coordinate cross-agency efforts to deliver on the work programme,
- Build trust and credibility with multiple stakeholders (public and private sector).
He aha taau e kawe mai | What you’ll bring
Whilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours, your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead yourself or others.
Given the highly collaborative nature of the role, we are looking for someone with exceptional relationship building and management skills and the ability to work across multiple internal and external partners. You will need to have strong written and verbal communication skills and experience managing projects.
This role is set at Individual Contributor level, this means your key purpose is “to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business”.
