We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join our team, specializing in radio and fibre installation across Asaba. As a Field Engineer at Connekt Broadband, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server hardware and software, as well as fibre and radio network infrastructure. You will design and deploy networks, support backend projects, and ensure customers can effectively operate their equipment for the best possible user experience.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join our team, specializing in radio and fibre installation across Asaba. As a Field Engineer at Connekt Broadband, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server hardware and software, as well as fibre and radio network infrastructure. You will design and deploy networks, support backend projects, and ensure customers can effectively operate their equipment for the best possible user experience.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain radio and fibre optic equipment and systems.
- Set up and manage base stations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform splicing and testing of fibre optic cables.
- Climb and work on towers and other high structures to install and maintain equipment.
- Conduct site surveys and assess technical requirements for installations.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Develop solutions to maintain optimal network performance and system requirements.
- Collaborate with the support team to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Design and deploy functional networks, including LAN, WLAN, and WAN.
- Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Mentor team members on technical issues, particularly in fibre and radio technology.
- Educate customers on best practices for using services and equipment.
- Teach customers how to operate equipment correctly for optimal performance.
- Proven experience in radio and fibre installation.
- Ability to climb towers and work at heights.
- Proficiency in splicing and configuring fiber optic cables.
- Strong technical knowledge of base station setup and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security, and performance tuning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Experience with network management tools and software.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality.
- High level of professionalism and dedication to safety standards.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
