Role:
The role would include several specialized tasks and responsibilities tailored to the unique needs and processes of the manufacturing sector. By focusing on these specialized aspects, Functional Consultant can effectively enhance manufacturing operations, improve efficiency, and support the company’s overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities:


Manufacturing Process Understanding:

• Gain an in-depth understanding of the manufacturing processes, including production planning, inventory management, supply chain management, and quality control.

Requirements Gathering and Analysis:

• Collaborate with departments to understand their specific requirements.
• Conduct detailed analysis of manufacturing workflows, including shop floor operations, material requirements planning (MRP), and capacity planning.

Solution Design:

• Design Dynamics 365 solutions that cater specifically to manufacturing needs, such as production scheduling, bill of materials (BOM), and product lifecycle management (PLM).
• Ensure that the designed solutions integrate seamlessly with other systems like ERP, MES (Manufacturing Execution System), and SCM (Supply Chain Management).

Configuration and Customization:

• Configure Dynamics 365 for Operations to handle manufacturing-specific functionalities.
• Customize Dynamics 365 to support unique manufacturing processes, such as lean manufacturing, discrete manufacturing, or process manufacturing.

Implementation and Deployment:

• Oversee the implementation process, ensuring that manufacturing modules and functionalities are deployed effectively.
• Coordinate with technical teams to implement integrations with other manufacturing systems and machinery.

Training and Support:

• Provide training tailored to the needs of manufacturing staff, focusing on production, quality control, and inventory management.
• Offer post-implementation support to address any issues related to manufacturing processes and Dynamics 365 usage.

Data Migration and Management:

• Manage the migration of data related to production orders, inventory levels, and manufacturing resources.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy during the transition to Dynamics 365.

Continuous Improvement:

• Work with the manufacturing team to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains using Dynamics 365.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on feedback and performance data.

Manufacturing Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, processes, and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with different manufacturing methodologies such as Just-in-Time (JIT), Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management (TQM).

Technical Proficiency:

• Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations, specifically the modules related to manufacturing, supply chain management, and inventory management.
• Knowledge of integration techniques and tools for connecting Dynamics 365 with other manufacturing systems.

Analytical Skills:

• Ability to analyze complex manufacturing processes and identify solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Proficiency in using data analytics tools to monitor production performance and quality metrics.

Communication Skills:

• Effective communication skills to liaise with manufacturing personnel, understand their needs, and translate them into technical specifications.
• Ability to provide clear and concise training and support documentation.

Project Management:

• Experience managing projects within a manufacturing environment, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies suitable for manufacturing projects.

Certification and Education:

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate, or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
