Job Title: IT Clerk
PPS is looking for a trainable IT Clerk to provide clerical and administrative support to team members.
Location: Kado - Abuja
Office Assistance:
  • Assist team members with organizing files, scanning, photocopying, and scheduling meetings.
  • Process equipment orders: source vendors, obtain invoices, and process requests.
  • Collect and receive orders from vendors, distribute to centres, and run other errands as required.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the IT Team.
  • Record information in databases and generate reports/documents as needed.
  • Assist with configuring and connecting peripheral equipment to computer systems.
  • Provide basic equipment support across centres, including setup and cleaning.
  • Perform routine checks on CCTV systems, attendance scanners, walkie-talkies, and other IT gadgets.
  • Run daily website downtime tests and generate monthly reports.
Application Testing:
  • Test and retest web and mobile applications.
  • Identify bugs, software defects, and inconsistencies.
  • Record bugs, glitches, and other flaws identified during testing.
  • Create and regularly update logs to document testing phases and defects.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Record and log all interactions (queries, incidents, and resolutions) in relevant logs.
  • Maintain a database of all IT equipment (computers, keyboards, wireless adapters, routers, etc.).
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Handle ticket creation, follow-up on pending tickets, and vendor interfaces.
  • Generate reports using Microsoft Excel as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: At least a Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a technical-related field. (Candidates with experience in networking or CCTV installation are preferred.)
  • Experience: Hands-on experience in installing and maintaining CCTV cameras, networking cabling, or other related IT practices is highly desirable.

  • Administrative Skills: Basic experience with administrative tasks such as creating tickets, following up on pending tasks, and generating reports using Microsoft Excel is a plus.
  • Candidates with the willingness to learn these skills will also be considered.
  • Skilled in using basic office equipment (printers, copiers, scanners, etc.).
  • Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
  • Physically capable of standing, bending, squatting, and lifting equipment as required.
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations and multitask efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (spelling, grammar, and composition).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
