Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Ibadan, Nigeria

Job Summary:
Our company is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will
support farm operations by overseeing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all mechanical systems, including
equipment used in poultry production. This role requires experience in industrial maintenance, knowledge of
mechanical engineering principles, and a hands-on approach to solving technical issues in agricultural settings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance and Repair:
o Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on farm equipment, including feeders,
water systems, HVAC systems, and generators.
o Ensure that all mechanical systems operate efficiently to minimize downtime and reduce
operational costs.
o Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of equipment
and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
2. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
o Diagnose and address mechanical issues quickly and effectively, using a systematic approach.
o Provide technical support to the production team by resolving any mechanical issues that may
arise during operations.
3. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with safety regulations and farm operational standards.
o Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and recommending
improvements where needed.
o Keep up-to-date records of repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance activities for compliance
and reporting purposes.
4. Collaboration with Team:
o Work closely with other engineers, production managers, and maintenance staff to support
continuous operations.
o Assist in training farm staff on the proper use of equipment and minor troubleshooting
techniques.
5. Continuous Improvement:
o Suggest and implement improvements in mechanical systems and processes to increase
efficiency and production quality.
o Stay informed on industry advancements and recommend new technologies and practices that
may benefit farm operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within the agricultural or food
production industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance practices and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in industrial settings.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.
Previous experience in poultry or livestock farm operations.
Familiarity with agricultural equipment maintenance and repair.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
