Retail Business Development Executive (Woodwork Projects)

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Retail Business Development Executive to drive sales growth for our woodwork products, including custom kitchens, wardrobes, furniture, and wooden decorative pieces. The ideal candidate will focus on expanding our retail client base by identifying and securing partnerships with retail outlets, furniture stores, home improvement centres, and other retail channels. This role is critical in positioning our woodwork products in the retail market and ensuring steady sales through retail partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Retail Client Acquisition:
- Identify and target potential retails like houses and furniture shops interested in selling custom woodwork products such as kitchen cabinetry, wardrobes, and wooden decorations.
- Build relationships with retailers and distributors to create new opportunities for showcasing and selling our wood products.
- Develop and implement a retail expansion strategy to increase the visibility and availability of our woodwork products in key retail markets.
2- Sales and Retail Strategy:
- Create tailored sales strategies for different retail environments, ensuring alignment with consumer demand for wooden products like customized kitchens, wardrobes, and decorative wood installations.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and display agreements with retail partners to maximize profitability and market penetration.
- Develop product displays, promotional campaigns, and in-store marketing materials to boost retail sales of woodwork products.
3- Market Research and Retail Trends:
- Conduct thorough market research to understand trends in the retail space, focusing on consumer preferences for wood-based products and designs.
- Analyse competitor offerings and pricing strategies to position our wood products competitively in the retail market.
- Gather feedback from retail partners and customers to improve product offerings and address any gaps in the market.
4- Relationship Building and Client Retention:
- Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with retail clients to ensure ongoing orders and product placements.
- Provide regular training and support to retail staff on how to sell and promote our wood products effectively.
- Work closely with retailers to ensure that product displays and marketing efforts align with the brand image and quality of our woodwork.
5- Coordination with Internal Teams:
- Collaborate with the production and design teams to ensure that product specifications, quality, and delivery timelines meet the requirements of retail partners.
- Coordinate with logistics and inventory teams to ensure that wood products are delivered to retail outlets on time and in optimal condition.
6- Reporting and Performance Tracking:
- Provide regular reports on retail business development activities, including sales targets, new retail partnerships, and retail sales performance.
- Track performance against retail sales KPIs and adjust sales strategies to meet or exceed targets.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or retail management, with a focus on woodwork products (e.g., kitchens, wardrobes, furniture, and wooden decorative items) preferred.
- Strong understanding of the retail industry, particularly home improvement, furniture, and design-focused retail environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with retail partners, distributors, and customers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and retail accounts.
- Proficiency in using CRM software, sales tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a passion for growing retail sales and brand presence.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦150,000.00 - ₦350,000.00 per month
