Job Summary
As a Senior Android Developer, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of our Android applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and top-notch user experience. You’ll work closely with our product managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers to deliver impactful solutions. The successful candidate should be prepared to relocate to Port Harcourt to become an integral part of our collaborative, on-site team.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain high-performance Android applications in alignment with our product roadmap.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices to help them grow.
Conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality code standards and ensure best practices.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance to ensure a seamless user experience.
Stay up-to-date with Android development trends and emerging technologies to keep our apps competitive and innovative.
Integrate with external APIs, third-party libraries, and back-end services.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Android development processes and architecture.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in Android development.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
Deep understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and Google’s design principles and interface guidelines.
Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
Familiarity with third-party libraries, APIs, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns, particularly MVVM and MVP.
Experience with Android testing frameworks for unit and UI testing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Jetpack Compose.
Familiarity with mobile security best practices.
Knowledge of the Google Play submission and release process.
Profiency in Ride Share/Transporation Industry a plus
Prior experience in a senior or lead role within a development team.
