Job Summary
As a Senior Android Developer, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of our Android applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and top-notch user experience. You’ll work closely with our product managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers to deliver impactful solutions. The successful candidate should be prepared to relocate to Port Harcourt to become an integral part of our collaborative, on-site team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain high-performance Android applications in alignment with our product roadmap.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
- Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices to help them grow.
- Conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality code standards and ensure best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Stay up-to-date with Android development trends and emerging technologies to keep our apps competitive and innovative.
- Integrate with external APIs, third-party libraries, and back-end services.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Android development processes and architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Android development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
- Deep understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and Google’s design principles and interface guidelines.
- Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
- Familiarity with third-party libraries, APIs, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns, particularly MVVM and MVP.
- Experience with Android testing frameworks for unit and UI testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Familiarity with mobile security best practices.
- Knowledge of the Google Play submission and release process.
- Profiency in Ride Share/Transporation Industry a plus
- Prior experience in a senior or lead role within a development team.
