ABOUT CLIENT: The Future Edge is a global consulting and business support solutions company. We are seeking ‘Site Engineer’ for our client; a leading real estate business in Nigeria.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our team and take responsibility for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development coupled with extensive knowledge of networking principles and technologies. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our systems through the development of custom software solutions, proactive monitoring, and rapid response to issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management Software Development:

Design, develop, and maintain custom software tools and applications to manage our infrastructure.
Automate network configuration, monitoring, and maintenance tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
Integrate network management software with existing systems and tools for seamless operation.

2. Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

Implement robust monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address issues.
Analyze performance metrics and logs to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, latency, and throughput issues.
Develop scripts and utilities for troubleshooting devices, protocols, and services.
Technical Support: Provide helpdesk support for hardware and software issues, assisting employees with technical problems.
System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

3. Security Management:

Implement and maintain security measures to protect our infrastructure from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats.
Develop intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) to monitor and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices for security and compliance.

4. Infrastructure Maintenance:

Perform regular software updates, patches, and firmware upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
Conduct periodic audits and assessments of infrastructure to identify areas for improvement or optimization.

5. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.
Provide training and support to junior staff members on management and troubleshooting practices.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software management development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3 to 5 years experience as a software developer with experience in management and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C/C++.
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, etc.).
Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Wireshark, SNMP).
Familiarity with security principles and practices, including encryption, authentication, and access control.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications
Knowledge and experience in the use of Odoo ERP is an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From ₦300,000.00 per month
