TITLE: State Coordinator, Process Evaluation
REPORTING TO: Senior Evaluation Specialist/Program Manager
LOCATION: Kaduna, Nigeria.
ASSIGNMENT LENGTH: Two years
JOB DESCRIPTION: The State Coordinator oversees all activities within the assigned state, ensuring effective project implementation, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all evaluation activities within the state, ensuring timely achievement of evaluation goals within the allocated budget.
2. Work closely with MSI Nigeria and the process evaluation team to understand MSI implementation strategy and design appropriate process evaluation strategies.
3. Hands on quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis to monitor project impact and outcomes, prepare reports with insights and recommendations for leadership and funders.
4. Conduct monthly data verification and quarterly data Quality Assessments on the data from Primary Health Facilities under the project’s evaluation coverage to ensure completeness and accuracy.
5. Train and Supervise Ad-hoc data collectors on modern data collection methods.
6. Provide inputs to managers and technical leads in collection, analysis, and reporting of program data.
7. Provide inputs and analysis for the regular reporting of program/evaluation performance indicators to BMGF and other stakeholders.
8. Provide input for the development of research instruments for surveys and research studies.
9. Ensure the smooth running of research study and fieldwork by developing systems to track projects including all study, investigator and ethical review board information, client/participant recruitment activity and financial management.
10. Undertake any other responsibility delegated by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Level of Education – A minimum of Masters in Public Health/International Health or any related area
2. Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in project management or coordination, ideally at the state or regional level.
3. Experience in managing FP programs
4. Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skill
5. Language Requirements – Excellent English language
6. Experience in using the Demographic and Health Information System 2
7. Experience in conducting Data Quality Assessments
8. Ability to use STATA for advanced data analysis
9. Interest in scientific writing. Publications in peer reviewed journal (added advantage)
10. Ability to use data management packages – Epi Data/Epi Info
11. Experience in converting data into clear useable format for different audiences
12. Based in Kaduna.
13. Willingness to travel within Nigeria
14. Strong analytic and database skills including statistical analysis
15. Experience in implementing field research.
