Abbott Diagnostics Technologies AS (ATN) is part of Abbott Diagnostics, bringing together teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.
The position of Automation Engineer is within our Cardiometabolic Unit located in Oslo, Norway. This role will contribute with project participation in development projects of new equipment and processes.
Responsibilities

Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure duties are performed in compliance with business policies and procedures, and maintain awareness of quality consequences. Demonstrate commitment to quality processes as per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.

Professional Conduct: Exhibit professional behavior with internal and external business associates, reflecting positively on the company and aligning with company policies and practices.

Project Management: Participate in and manage improvement projects, ensuring tasks are performed and documented according to guidelines and deadlines. Plan and coordinate assigned project tasks.

Equipment and Systems Management: Operate, validate, and maintain computer equipment used in production. Ensure equipment functions as intended, is up-to-date, and minimizes costs and risks. Specify, implement, and document new systems, and participate in their operation and maintenance.

Supplier and Procurement Coordination: Manage contact with suppliers of equipment and materials. Ensure necessary procurement of operating materials within budget, in consultation with the manager.

Training and Development: Train and guide employees in new processes and routines. Contribute professionally to the acquisition of new systems and keep up to date on the subject area.

Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties and projects as assigned, with specific tasks reflected in the employee’s training plan.
- Bachelor’s degree in automation, mechanics, electronics or equivalent, and 0-2 years’ relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree in automation, mechanics, electronics or equivalent, and 0-1 years’ relevant experience
- Knowledge of writing protocols and reports
- Knowledge of GMP
Preferred qualifications
- Some experience in the field
- Experience with advanced technical production equipment
- PLS programming
- Different display control systems
- Operation of computer equipment in industrial networks

- Good communication skills in writing and orally, both in Norwegian and English
- Good collaboration skills
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Structured, systematic and accurate
