We are currently seeking a Customer Engineer Thermal to join our dynamic team in Oslo, Norway !
As a Customer Engineer - Thermal, your main responsibilities include conducting preventative maintenance and addressing scheduled and emergency repairs on Vertiv and third-party equipment. This field-based role offers significant independence within a regional structure, with occasional travel required. You'll work both independently and as part of a team, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and sales representatives. We provide essential tools such as a company vehicle, laptop, phone, and training programs based in the UK and overseas, ensuring excellent professional growth opportunities.

We are currently seeking a Customer Engineer Thermal to join our dynamic team in Oslo, Norway !
As a Customer Engineer - Thermal, your main responsibilities include conducting preventative maintenance and addressing scheduled and emergency repairs on Vertiv and third-party equipment. This field-based role offers significant independence within a regional structure, with occasional travel required. You'll work both independently and as part of a team, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and sales representatives. What kind of work will you be doing?
- Gain expertise in operating Vertiv products and understanding 3rd party equipment covered by Vertiv service contracts.
- Perform planned maintenance on both Vertiv and 3rd party equipment, including attending breakdowns and conducting subsequent repairs.
- Execute equipment upgrades, including software, and participate in the Emergency on-call rota.
- Demonstrate independence in work, covering various locations within the South of the UK and occasionally working away from home base for full weeks, including weekends. Additionally, take charge of Vertiv service work and resolve complex issues on customer sites.
- Offer on-site and phone assistance to Vertiv customers professionally and promptly.
- Collaborate with Technical Support to resolve equipment issues in line with company guidelines.
- Stay updated on safety bulletins, field change notices, and attend product training courses to maintain proficiency.
- Ensure comprehensive compliance with health and safety protocols, including conducting site-specific risk assessments, controlling identified risks, adhering to company policy and relevant legislation, wearing appropriate PPE, implementing safe working practices, and promptly reporting any work-related accidents or injuries.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting, including timesheets, expense reports, and service documentation, in compliance with company guidelines.
- Prioritize customer satisfaction by maintaining clear communication, meeting scheduled maintenance obligations, striving for "first time fix" solutions, and escalating issues when necessary. Demonstrate high performance standards by adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements, completing work efficiently, making sound decisions under pressure, and promoting equipment sales opportunities.
What will make you successful?
- Experience (one or more of the following).
- NVQ level 1 & 2 or equivalent in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or BTEC or relevant time served experience.
- City in Guilds 2078 or 2079 in Refrigerant Safe Handling, Subscribed to ACRIB.
- Computer Literate.
- Previous experience in this role.
- Excellent customer service skills, presentable and professional at all time.
- Self-starter, ability to plan effectively, organize, and manage time effectively.
- Full valid driving license.
- Technical skills: Strong bias on fault finding; Self motivated and capable of working under own initiative; Maintenance processes; Customer reporting.
