We are seeking a candidate with strong financial expertise to fill the role as our Financial Business Controller at Norrøna. This position will be vital in providing insights to drive retail operations, contributing to both financial planning, reporting, and operational efficiency across the company’s global retail footprint.

The role primarily focuses on Norrøna Retail, which operates 38 stores across Europe and the U.S., including Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, and the USA, as well as partner stores worldwide. You will be part of a finance team of 9 colleagues and report directly to the CFO, playing a key role in supporting both the Retail division and the overall group with impactful financial analysis and business partnering.

About the role
As a Financial Business Controller at Norrøna, your primary role will be focused on financial controlling, where you will provide financial insights to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency. You will play an essential role in analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and offering recommendations to optimize the company’s financial health. This position will involve budgeting and forecasting, ensuring that financial plans are aligned with business goals, while monitoring key performance metrics across our retail operations. By overseeing cash flow and liquidity management, you will help the company maintain strong financial stability. While the primary focus will be on financial analysis and planning, your role will occasionally involve collaborating on accounting tasks to support the broader finance team.
In addition to controlling tasks, you will contribute to the ongoing automatization projects within the department.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience from business controlling preferably from retail operation
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, accounting, finance, or a related field
A strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in digital systems
Highly skilled in Excel and financial modeling
Experience with building BI reports is valuable but not essential
Fluent in both Norwegian and English

To succeed in this role, you should be highly interested in Retail operations and be well acquainted with the Norrøna brand and the industry we operate within. You are highly analytical and curious about uncovering the key drivers of costs and identifying the company’s critical financial success factors. Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English are essential, as you'll be expected to present complex information clearly and concisely to both the board and management team.
Place of work is in Norway, at our newly renovated premises at Lysaker - Norrøna House.
