We are looking for a candidate at the start of their career to fill the role as an Accountant and Business Controller at Norrøna. This hybrid role blends traditional accounting tasks with a more analytical and tactical focus, contributing to both financial planning and reporting. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining financial control while driving continuous improvements in our processes. The role will be part of a finance team consisting of 9 colleagues and you’ll report to the CFO.

This role is planned to primarily work with Norrøna Retail, but you will also contribute with tasks supporting the whole group. The Retail division of Norrøna has a total of 38 stores spread out in Europe and the US, you find us in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Switzerland and the USA, as well as partner stores arond the world. You will be joining a friendly and social work environment that supports collaboration and personal growth.

About the role

As an Accountant & Business Controller, you will be responsible for daily accounting tasks such as bookkeeping, reconciliations, and accruals to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will manage accounts payable and receivable, transfer pricing, intercompany billing, help prepare financial statements, and analyze budgets and forecasts. By identifying differences in financial performance, you will suggest improvements to enhance the company's financial health. Additionally, you will assist in managing cash flow to ensure the company maintains sufficient liquidity.

Qualifications

2-5 years of work experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, accounting, finance, or a related field.
Experience with accounting and controlling.
A strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in digital systems.
Highly skilled in Excel and financial modeling.
Experience with building BI reports is valuable but not essential.
Having experience from Retail will be an advantage.
Fluent in both Norwegian and English

To succeed in this role, you should be highly analytical and curious about uncovering the key drivers of costs and identifying the company’s critical success factors. Strong communication skills are also essential, as you'll be expected to present complex information clearly and concisely to both the board and management team.
