We are now looking for an experienced legal counsel with international experience and agility to work across the spectrum of complex commercial, corporate, regulatory, data protection, cyber security, competition, intellectual property, sanctions/trade control legal issues and dispute resolution for Customer Unit Northern & Central Europe (CU NCE) within Group Function Legal Affairs (GFLA) to ensure that the purpose and objectives of the Ericsson Group, Market Area, GFLA and the CU are fulfilled.
This includes leading and/or providing partnership to legal and business teams across complex customer sale and sourcing contracts, strategic partnerships, (where needed) corporate transactions/M&A activity, corporate governance and advisory matters, intellectual property and dispute resolution. Top-tier law firm credentials and/or experience working at multinational company operating in diverse geographies are strongly preferred.
The In-House Legal Counsel will report to the CU Northern and Central Europe Head of Legal, and would be responsible mainly for supporting activities in the Nordic region. The candidate should be based in Stockholm, Sweden, or alternatively in Copenhagen, Denmark, or Oslo, Norway.
What you will do:
- Assist on complex commercial, corporate, regulatory, data privacy, cyber security, competition, intellectual property, sanctions/trade control legal issues and dispute resolution for CU Northern & Central Europe, including drafting and reviewing contracts of various types and negotiating such contracts with counterparties;
- Partner with team members across Ericsson’s global legal and compliance team - both specialist teams and those partnering with business units / regions – and top tier legal counsel to develop and execute creative legal and business solutions that enable delivery of Ericsson’s business strategy;
- Be readily available so that the internal clients requesting legal assistance are provided good and effective legal support;
- Continuously develop appropriate and more efficient methods and tools for providing legal support and generally improve quality of and reduce costs for legal services provided;
- In concert with business responsible staff, review and develop business models and ways of conducting business with the aim to increase efficiency and quality and to facilitate for the client to achieve its business goals;
- Work proactively by providing working tools, training etc to improve the general legal awareness;
- Report matters as needed to the Head of Legal in CU Northern & Central Europe;
- Ensure that Group, Market Area Europe and Latin America (MELA) and CU policies and directives are fulfilled;
- Monitor and follow up on CU related claims and litigations;
- Hire, engage and coordinate with external lawyers used by Ericsson legal entities active in the region.
Main work tasks
- Drafting and reviewing of contracts and other instruments including models and templates.
- Lead and/or assist during contract negotiations and other discussions with external parties whether private or public.
- Provide general legal advice and training on legal matters.
- Provide support on all kind of legal matters except tax.
- Interpret existing agreements and legislation.
- Be the interfaces to the local business operations in all commercial legal matters
- Handle contacts with external legal advisers and coordinate contacts and network with other Ericsson's in-house lawyers.
- Coordinate the handling of legal disputes.
- Represent Ericsson locally in government related activities, provided such activities have legal relevance.
