Navigation Sales Engineer – Nordic Region
Rud
September 18, 2024
We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Sales Engineer who is passionate about working with underwater navigation technology and our customers.
At Nortek, we develop and manufacture world-leading instruments that collect information about the processes taking place in our oceans. We need to understand more about the role of the oceans in areas such as climate, food production, health, business activities and energy production. Our technology is used, among other things, for studies of coral reefs, navigation of underwater vehicles, measurement of currents and quality assurance of fish farming. The interest in the ocean is increasing, and our company is growing. With us, you will contribute to a product that can benefit millions of people.
What will your role and tasks be with us?
As a Sales Engineer you will be responsible for assisting new and existing customers in Norway and the wider Nordic region through though their customer journey with us. This includes helping customers understand our unique underwater navigation technology, as well as identifying which underwater navigation solution best suits their needs, providing sales quotes, placing orders, and offering after-sales support and follow up to ensure our customers get the best service experience possible.
In addition, you will have an important role in our dynamic and multidisciplinary technology environment. Together with skilled colleagues from our development and support teams, you will help to further develop our underwater navigation solutions, by engaging in customer and market feedback to ensure that new products and services meet new and existing customers' needs.
You will be expected to travel to conferences and events and visit customers locally within the Nordic region on a regular basis to build solid relationships within the industry and promote Nortek.
What qualifications are we looking for?
We are primarily looking for a candidate who has a relevant Master's or Bachelor's degree for example in a sales or marine technology role. Relevant work experience is highly regarded especially in a similar technical sales role and can compensate for a lack of formal or academic education. It is an advantage if you have relevant experience from both underwater navigation, customer support, B2B sales or business development activities.
To succeed in the position, it is important that you have the following personal qualities:
What can we offer?
We are committed to your success with us and ensure that you receive good onboarding from the start. In addition to a digital introductory program, you will be enrolled in the Nortek Academy - an in-person introductory program that provides insights about all of the teams and processes happening at Nortek. It is also a great opportunity to meet other new employees from Norway and our 9 global subsidiaries physically.
At Nortek, you will be involved in many exciting tasks! You will experience great personal and professional development opportunities and gain valuable insights into our business.
Although we are established in many countries, as a Norwegian-owned company we have managed to maintain an informal tone and short decision-making paths. As an employee with us, it will give you great opportunities to influence our future and you will hopefully see the result of what you are working on relatively quickly. With us, you will feel that your contribution makes a big difference.
Our culture, employee well-being and a good working environment are important to us. We have a good diversity of nationalities, ages and professional backgrounds and have several social activities that are driven forward by our own employees and our social committee. In 2024, we have hosted social events including bowling, olabil races, beer pong and pizza, and a rafting trip in Sjoa. Our employees have access to rent our company cabins – one in Norefjell and one in Southern France. We generally have low turnover and high job satisfaction.
This job role is preferably based in Trondheim or Oslo with some remote working available on an occasional basis. Please specify which location is preferred in your application.
