We are looking for a Senior/Principal Instrumentation Engineer to strengthen our Renewables Engineering team in Aibel Haugesund. In this role, you will work with instrumentation engineering for large-scale projects and serve as either discipline engineer or discipline lead for instrumentation. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to studies, bids and both FEED and detail engineering projects. About the position
As part of Aibel’s team, you will guide the selection of instruments based on their application, and you’ll develop innovative instrumentation philosophies and solutions to meet project requirements. You will be package responsible engineer (PRE) for instrument procurement packages, ensuring follow-up of supplier deliveries and participate in test activities IAT/FAT.

About the position
As part of Aibel’s team, you will guide the selection of instruments based on their application, and you’ll develop innovative instrumentation philosophies and solutions to meet project requirements. You will be package responsible engineer (PRE) for instrument procurement packages, ensuring follow-up of supplier deliveries and participate in test activities IAT/FAT.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Develop Technical Requisitions for procurement of instruments.
- Participate in multidiscipline design and review activities.
- Participate and arrange meetings, workshops and reviews for instrumentation discipline as required.
- Participate in developing/improving working methods through digital tools.
- Interface with other disciplines, contractors and Clients.
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree or relevant experience from years with technical qualification.
- At least 5 years of experience in Instrumentation engineering, preferably within Oil &Gas projects on the Norwegian continental shelf or the Offshore Wind sector.
- Knowledge of DNV and international standards, as many of our projects are outside Norway. Familiarity with Norwegian technical standards is a plus.

- Strong communication skills with ability to convey ideas clearly across teams.
- Cooperative mindset, with positive attitude toward working in multicultural environment.
- Ability of working independently with a detail-oriented approach, as well as effectively in a team.
- Solid understanding of multidisciplinary project environments.
- Committed to meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Proactive, open to seeking advice, and eager to share knowledge and experience. Fluent in English, both written and verbal; knowledge of Norwegian is a plus.
