Welcoming you to the team
The Tender & Project Purchasing team is a diverse and multicultural team with team members in Norway, USA, France and UK. The team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the lifetime of the tenders and projects.
Getting a flying start
To succeed as Senior Project Purchaser you have at least 5 years’ experience. You have worked in companies that are project driven, and have activities related to purchasing and tenders projects. You have experience working domestically or internationally. You will be comfortable with ensuring quality and safety during the projects. You have experience preparing and managing procurement plans, defining purchasing strategies, negotiating and following up contracts. Good communication skills is essential to ensure good information flow across different disciplines.
How you make an impact
You will support the tenders and projects on all purchasing related tasks, you will prepare and evaluate offer to be presented and discussed with tender/project team. During Project execution, ensure high quality delivery, efficient project execution and minimum variations and claims by close follow up of internal stakeholders, suppliers, contracts and deliveries. Ensure good coordination with all tender & project teams; establish and maintain Procurement Plans according to Nexans Standards; provide necessary inputs to the monthly reporting. You will be an active and visible contributor in the tender and project to satisfy internal and external customers
You may also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department. You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.
Your starting point when you join
- Master degree in Engineering , Business or Supply Chain
- 4-7 years of experience in project setting
- 3-5 years of experience in Procurement / Supply Chain activities
- 3-5 years working experience from any of the following industries: oil, gas, offshore, onshore, maritime, construction
- In this role the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you are proactive and eager to learn and improve.
- In Nexans we work in teams and are driven by project execution therefore being able to communicate effectively and having strong collaboration skills is of upmost importance.
- Fluent in English, – oral and written, Norwegian/French is a plus.
