The Role:
As our organisation continually respond to the rapidly changing global environment, we recognize the importance of having a robust strategy, a prioritization process, and efficient resource utilization to execute programs and initiatives effectively. The Manager – Strategy & Research will serve an important role in partnering cross-functionally across the business to drive value and enable successful outcomes of projects tied to strategic business objectives.
In conjunction with the VP Strategy & Operations you will craft compelling strategy updates for senior leaders, prepare content and analysis for various Executives discussions and provide guidance, standardization, and project governance frameworks to ensure cross-functional strategic initiatives are aligned to drive organizational success.
The nature of the work is varied, and you will work on projects across multiple disciplines, in collaboration with subject matter experts, internal and external partners, and be a true Strategic Business Partner by empowering our teams to make data-driven decisions and fostering transparency and diverse perspectives.
Responsibilities:
Strategy Communication
- Develop compelling strategic updates for the Chief Executive Officer, including for sales meetings, townhalls, senior leaders’ meetings, etc.
- Develop and craft compelling content to effectively convey strategy and updates for senior leaders, in collaboration with business functions
- Prepare material for Helly Hansen’s Executives discussions with parent company and Board
- Support and prepare content and material for Executives Top-to-Top meetings
- Enhancing internal communications and understanding of our strategic direction through tailored training sessions and compelling narrative.
- Support ad hoc analysis and content for the Chief Executive Officer and senior leaders
- Overseeing detailed analysis of external factors such as market trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory changes, interpreting their impact on our business.
- Ability to analyze data, emerge insights to support business decisions
- Collaborate and develop analysis and business cases in support of select strategic initiatives
- Develop and foster adoption of simple frameworks for problem solving and emerging recommendation, collaborating with other internal teams and subject matter experts
- Prepare and deliver regular, meaningful reporting on all strategic initiatives, to assist and drive future strategic decision making.
- Develop a simple project charter framework to build cross functional visibility on delivery status, track performance and escalate risks when appropriate
- Build a framework that will support the prioritization of strategic agenda roll out and collaborate to identify required resources, business needs and implications
- Lead select initiatives, owning the delivery and execution of the project
- Support coordination of select cross-functional initiatives, helping define internal stakeholders, scope, outcomes, activities and risks; foster transparency
- Consolidate functional roadmaps into an enterprise-level cross functional capabilities and business milestones roadmap that aligns with the financial long-term plan
- Enable cross functional collaboration, transparency and open lines of communication
- Build, lead and mentor the adoption of simple efficient business frameworks across all teams
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Proven experience in overseeing and delivering strategic projects, with a track record of coordinating multiple teams and meeting tight deadlines.
- Expertise in strategic analysis using various strategy frameworks to support corporate decision-making.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a deep understanding of strategy tools and frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the capability to distil complex information into clear, impactful messages.
- A versatile, curious, and proactive mindset, quickly adapting to various subjects
- A strong business partner that defines business requirements and scope and connect financial and operational implications for strategy projects and initiatives
- An innovative thinker that challenges the status quo, positioning Helly Hansen to achieve its long-term ambition and outmaneuver competition
- You will be an effective collaborator and influencer with strong communications and consensus building skills, with the ability to lead with their peers in a global, matrixed organization
- A Project Manager comfortable with rolling up their sleeves and building a lean, cohesive team that is “Helly first”, incorporates diverse points of view, and consistently builds cross-functional consensus on a focused direction, action plans, and messages to the broader organization
- Minimum of 3-5 years of strategy and management consulting or similar role; experience working with global brands/companies
- Higher university degree, preferably at master’s level or equivalent
- Strong Project Management skills and experience
- Advance skill level in the Microsoft Office suite – Power Point and Excel -essential
- High level of attention to detail
- Good level of data analysis experience
- Ability to thrive in a lean, high-growth environment
- Ability to work well across functions, diverse communities and different time zones
- Strong interest for the outdoors, skiing, and/or sailing
