The Role
Our client are a leading well known Engineering Design Consultancy with offices around the world, they are seeking A Design Technical Director or a Design Technical Manager for a permanent position based in Muscat Oman in the Middle East. This position will report to and work alongside the Managing Director. Duration: Permanent Position PLEASE NOTE: This is a senior level role 12-15 years of experience is a requirement. ROLE • You will report to the Managing Director of this established Engineering Consultancy organisation, and work alongside the heads of Department • The ideal candidate will be expected to Coordinate and Liaise with the divisional design managers /departments such as the Water Supply Division, Dam Division, Roads Division, Marine works division to gather information to prepare proposals, bid tender documentation, both technical and financial. Please ensure that you detail similar experience on your CV • The Technical Manager/ Engineering Manager will also have solid experience of Interviewing and recruiting new engineers for the company. • The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of Engineering Projects such as Dams Roads Water supply, sewage and marine works, in order to prepare technical and financial proposals. • Respond to client requests for information in a timely manner • Capable of making decisions, writing letters and managing information as well as coordinating with internal and external engineers • Detailed report writing and recording • Act as a filter between the head of section and the Managing Director SALARY & BENEFITS • R.O 2000-2500 per month ( these figures are negotiable for the right person) • Car and Fuel • Accommodation • Medical insurance cover is provided on top of the basic salary • Mobilisation flights and visa costs. • 30 days paid leave • Bonus as per Omani Law

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS PLEASE NOTE: All of the following are ESSENTIAL, requirements for this position, this means it is WANTED AND NEEDED. • The Technical Manager / Director will have at least 12-15 + years of experience with an Engineering Consultancy. • Experience of working with a similar engineering consultancy is essential with projects such as Dams, Water supply, Roads Marine Works etc. Our client is looking for someone who has had experience of most of these. • Solid experience of putting together bid/ tender proposals to submit to clients is an essential part of this role. • Previous experience of Interviewing candidates for an Engineering Consultancy • Ability to understand technical information and to compile the information to form part of the proposals. • A BSc Qualification in an Engineering related subject such as Civil Engineering • An additional Masters Degree Qualification, is desirable but not essential • A Chartered or Professional Engineer status is also highly desirable. • Strong English language skills, with excellent communication and project management ability. • The ability to work to very tight and demanding client deadlines • Solid client liaison experience
