Position Overview:
Biodyne Pakistan is seeking an experienced and dynamic Agronomist to join our team in Lahore.
The Agronomist will play a vital role in researching, developing, and implementing innovative agricultural solutions that leverage microbiology to optimize crop production, soil health, and sustainability.
The successful candidate will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to advance Biodyne's mission of creating transformative agricultural technologies that address global food security challenges.
Responsibilities:
Research and Development: Conduct research to identify and evaluate microbial-based solutions for improving crop yield, nutrient uptake, and soil health in various agricultural systems.
Field Trials: Design, plan, and oversee field trials to assess the efficacy and performance of microbial products and technologies in real-world agricultural settings.
Crop Management: Provide agronomic expertise and recommendations to farmers and agricultural partners on crop management practices, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management.
Soil Analysis: Perform soil analysis and interpretation to assess soil fertility, nutrient levels, p H, and other key parameters, guiding soil management decisions and fertilizer recommendations.
Technology Adoption: Collaborate with farmers, agronomists, and agricultural extension services to promote the adoption of microbial-based technologies and sustainable agricultural practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze field trial data and research findings to generate insights, prepare reports, and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of latest developments in agronomy, microbiology, and agricultural technology through literature review, attending conferences, and networking with industry experts.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Biodyne's interdisciplinary team, including microbiologists, biotechnologists, and environmental scientists, to integrate agronomic insights into product development and research projects.
Qualifications:
Master's or Ph.D. degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in agronomy, agricultural research, or related roles, preferably with a focus on sustainable agriculture and crop nutrition.
Strong understanding of agronomic principles, crop physiology, soil fertility, and plant-microbe interactions.
Experience in designing and conducting field trials, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting research results.
Knowledge of agricultural technologies, including precision agriculture tools, remote sensing, and digital farming platforms, is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including farmers, industry stakeholders, and scientific colleagues.
Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Passion for sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and making a positive impact on global food security.
