The Living Indus Initiative aims to restore 25 million hectares of the basin by 2030, positively impacting the lives of people living in the Indus River Basin, particularly the most vulnerable. The initiative aims to construct 1000 multi-purpose water ponds will contribute significantly to this goal, addressing water scarcity and enhancing food security and livelihoods.
Position Summary:
S/he will technically ensure the adherence to the standards of construction while leading implementation and monitoring physical infrastructure related activities in timely manner. In addition, s/he may be called upon to lead surveys, participatory needs assessments or any other activity that may be deemed necessary.

Position Summary:

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparation of BOQs, drawings & cost estimates of infrastructure projects.
- Carry out (participate) in technical assessments at the field level.
- Support supervisors in conducting the feasibilities and technical surveys.
- Contribute to the detailing of the civil work activities in the Project Implementation Plan (PIP).
- Provide technical inputs during the acceptance of incoming civil work supplies and materials.
- Provide technical support to the contractors/communities in the construction of shelters.
- Ensuring field presence to implement quality and quantity control measures during the project execution.
- Essentially following the approved design specifications as provided or providing technical inputs to the Country Office on the same, given the field realities.
- Keeping a track of the daily physical progress vis-à-vis the implementation. Alerting the line management of deviations while recommending means to appropriately bring on track.
- Maintaining good relations with the communities, notables, and local contact persons to involve them in project activities and seek their support as and when required.
- Establish strong liaisons & linkages with PHED, LG&CDD, DDMA, District Administration, District Health Office, District Education Office, and other stakeholders in the project location.
- To ensure self-safety and security by observing the security protocols of the country office and the donor.
- Ensure work is complete as per the work plan and schedules.
- Resolve the conflicts on the construction site.
- Ensure the quality of construction work.
- Monitor the contractor’s work including the work plans and quality of work if needed.
- Ensure safety procedures and rules are respected in the field by all workers.
- Prepare regular reports on the progress of construction for the assigned sites on a need basis.
- Keep all records of the data, Assessment list, vouchers and other tasks given by the line manager.
- BSc /B-Tech in Civil Engineering and Technology or related Field
- At least 3 Years of experience in the humanitarian and development projects
- Preferably proficient in Auto CAD or other Civil Engineering software
- Knowledge and experience in providing presentations and written reports
- Good inter-person and communication, liaison and presentation skill
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability and willingness to autonomously travel to duty site and villages when required.
- Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to work/distribution sites
- Excellent spoken and written local language /Urdu and English language skills
- Good computer skills – ability to write weekly and monthly reports and data analysis.
- Good interpersonal and communication skill
- Candidates will be preferred who belong to Human Appeal intervention areas/UCs district
