The Opportunity
The objective of our advisory risk services is to provide clients with a candid and reliable overview of their risk landscape. Our solutions can be used by our clients to build confidence and trust with their customers, the overall market and when required by regulation or contract. You will be responsible for executing client related engagements in risk management.
The role will be based in our Pakistan Centre of Excellence (Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad) and will support client engagements across the MENA region.
Your key responsibilities
You will be responsible for effectively engaging with clients and executing engagements primarily in the areas of Business Risk services like Enterprise Risk management (ERM), Compliance risk and regulatory services, Internal controls, Contract Risk Services, Business Process Management and other related solutions. You will be supporting clients in development and ongoing maintenance of the ERM framework, the documented policies, structures, processes, methodology, tools, and taxonomy.
Moreover, as a Senior consultant/ Assistant Manager, you will assist managers and senior manager with business development proposals on existing / new clients along with driving innovation in service delivery; ensure delivery is in line with firm’s Quality and Risk management requirements/expectations. Further, you will be responsible in developing/refreshing methodologies related to our existing/new solutions. You must contribute to various firm wide initiatives like learning and development (L&D) programmes, campus recruitment, knowledge sharing practice development and growth under guidance of managers and senior managers.
You also must take up project execution responsibility in a team or individually as per requirements and work plan, review work done by sub-ordinates (if any) and provide qualitative inputs before submission of deliverables to seniors/client due to sensitive information towards EY code of conduct, values, and quality standards.
Skills and attributes for success
You will continuously strive towards achieving goals and exceed client & team expectations while working on complex assignments. You shall conduct research and prepare client presentations, information memorandums and contribute to thought leadership documents.
Moreover, you will contribute to advisory engagements in the capacity of a team member and deliver quality output within assigned timelines to ensure discipline to work and productivity of self to promote positive working environment within a team. Stay Aware of any developments in business related areas regarding industry, tends, issues, key players to assist team leaders/managers in preparing client decks/documents.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance and Accounting
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, FRM; or MBA in Finance. (CA finalist with 1-2 papers remaining can also apply)
- At least five years of relevant experience in a similar role, of which a minimum of three years must be within consulting, focusing on risk management and ERM implementation projects. Big4 firm experience is desired.
- Must have worked on at least one end-to-end ERM implementation project and must be hands on with all related documentation/deliverables
- Experience in a risk management function on implementing and maintaining risk frameworks, GRC systems etc.
- Experience of risk reporting
- The ability, and willingness to travel within the Middle East as per project requirement
- Flexibility to work in teams with diverse background
- Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and writing)
