Are you purpose-led and ready to embark on a journey to shape the future of sustainable cotton? Join us at Better Cotton as Senior Digitalisation Officer.
The Senior Digitalisation Officer will be responsible for digitalisation initiatives across Pakistan field operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in digitalisation process, coordination, and a thorough understanding of data collection tools. This role will be responsible for implementing and managing digitalisation projects, assessing partner capabilities, and fostering collaboration across various teams.
The Challenge
Looking ahead to 2030, we are targeting reducing GHG emissions from cotton production by half, big cuts in synthetic pesticide use, improve soil health across our network, improve farm income and support women’s empowerment among farmers and farm workers.

Areas that play to your strengths
We are seeking a motivated Senior Digitalisation Officer to join our IT & Data team. In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Support the country management in the implementation of the Field Data Policy.
  • In consultation with the Global ITD team, develop a comprehensive plan of field data digitalisation rollout in country field operations.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of digitalisation initiatives.
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed to achieve country digitalisation.
  • Evaluate the digitalisation readiness and capacity of program partners.
  • Provide support and training to enhance partners' capabilities.
  • Establish and coordinate a working group comprised of internal and external stakeholders to drive digitalisation efforts.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with the global ITD and MEL team to identify and implement mobile-based data collection solutions.
  • Customise and configure tools such as Comm Care, ODK, and Microsoft Dynamics to meet specific project requirements.
  • Develop and impart trainings about tools and processes related to digitalisation.
  • Work closely with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) teams to ensure alignment with data collection and analysis requirements.
  • Collaborate with Program and Standards/Assurance teams to integrate digitalisation efforts into program activities and standards.
  • Establish a user support system to address inquiries and requests related to digital tools and systems.
  • Provide assistance to program partners in user account management, access control, and troubleshooting.
We are looking for someone who has
the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
Essential
  • Graduate or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data management platforms, data analytics, and visualisation tools, ensuring efficient data collection, storage, and usage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering results in challenging environments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach to project management.
Desirable
  • Proven experience in digitalisation project management, preferably development sector.
  • Strong understanding of mobile-based data collection tools such as Comm Care, ODK, and Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Prior experience in capacity building and training is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages, especially those spoken in Better Cotton’s key regions (e.g., Urdu, Punjabi, etc), is advantageous.

Working arrangements
The position is full-time (40 hours per week) and will be based in Lahore. Better Cotton offers flexible working, with core hours being 10 am – 4 pm.

Once you progress further in the process, reference checks are conducted to validate your work history, skills, and qualifications, and for some roles, your education and criminal history.
Offer stage:
After completing interviews, assessments, and reference checks, the hiring team evaluates your performance and fit for the role. If you are selected and your references are relevant and satisfactory, you will receive a formal job offer letter outlining the terms of employment, compensation, benefits, and any other relevant details.
