Senior Research Assistant (Data Management Unit), Department of Paediatrics and Child Health

Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

assist in implementation of Data Management standards in data collection and cleaning

assist in checking and testing of mobile Apps

undertake the day-to-day activities of the projects in DMU as well as support to field data collection team

assist in preparation and monitoring project’s progress

assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by coordinator/Managers

maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and

procedures

track data and ensure timely completion

handle and maintain manual data.

Requirements

You should have:

a Bachelors or Masters degree (preferably Computer Science and MIS )

knowledge of REDCAP will be an added advantage

minimum 6 months to 1 year

knowledge of working with database

ability to understand research questionnaire

ability to handle and manage hardcopy data received from project or field team

excellent Computers (Excel and Word) and Time Management skills

knowledge of data entry and able to identify error and discrepancies in manual data

ability to do application testing as per tool

excellent interpersonal and communication skills

ability to work as a team-player.
