Preschool Helper

Panama City

PART TIME & CONTRACT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Work with the teaching team in all activities, including but not limited to housekeeping, diapering, toilet training and meal service and record keeping.
  • Shared responsibility in the preparation of Daily Plans and the preparation of teaching materials.
  • Conduct daily small-group activities for an assigned group of children, sharing responsibility for large-group activities and using appropriate adult/child interactions strategies with all children.
  • Assume responsibility for a classroom at any given time.
  • Collects required anecdotes and information for required ongoing assessments.
  • Observe and/or participate in parent-teacher conferences.
  • Provide coverage for breaks for other staff members.
  • Supervise daily lunch and playground activities, field trips and walks.
  • Promote individualized attention for children by freeing teachers from routine duties.

  • Ability to use discretion in communications with parents in the teacher ‘s absence.
  • Ability to move and react quickly and to handle emergencies effectively.
  • Ability to abide by all rules and regulations applicable to workers at the school.
  • Ability to accept changes in schedules, environment, etc.
  • Acquire knowledge of the current curriculum and implement the curriculum practices in the classroom.
  • Great customer skills to communicate effectively with staff and students.
Education Required:
  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Preschool CDA credentials or an associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
  • Must attend training classes designed to broaden professionalism, education and skills involving childcare and development as required by Federal and State regulations and Administration.
Experience Required:
  • Experience as a Preschool Teacher Assistant is preferred.
License(s) Required:
  • No license required.
Work Environment/Physical Demands (Must be performed with or without reasonable accommodations):
  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.ckground in physical education, math, daycare, or tutoring is preferred

Pay: $12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 22 – 29 per week
Schedule:
  • 4 hour shift
  • After school
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No nights
  • No weekends
