The FSU Panama City Undergraduate Studies and FTIC program seeks to hire a full-time, resident Chemistry Faculty member to support its mission of preparing students for upper-level coursework and pre-health course tracks.

Responsibilities

This position will be on-campus at FSU Panama City in Panama City, FL and will consist of both in-person and online instruction and program service responsibilities. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Teaching undergraduate courses in Chemistry.
Mentoring and working closely with students.
Working with colleagues in the Chemistry Department in Tallahassee to assist course coordination.
Serving the program and the campus.
Opportunities for engagement in additional research, though it is not a required component of this teaching faculty position.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemistry (or related field) from an accredited institution (ABD will be considered, though the degree must be conferred by the start date of the position).
Expertise specific to courses in our programs.
Experience teaching at the college or university level.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of experience teaching at the university level (in-person and/or online).
Ability to teach Organic Chemistry I & II, Organic Chemistry Labs, & Biochemistry I.
Ability to teach General Chemistry I & II as well as General Chemistry I & II Labs.
Strong lab management skills.
Ability to work with other STEM instructors towards student success initiatives.

Considerations

This is a Faculty position.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

This position is being advertised as open until filled. The position will begin in Fall 2025 or earlier if circumstances allow.
