The Office of Research seeks to fill the Institute for Strategic Partnerships Innovation, Research & Education (In SPIRE) Research Administration Manager position.

The Research Administration Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the Triumph Gulf Coast award for Florida State University Institute for Strategic Partnerships, Innovation, Research, and Education (In SPIRE). The In SPIRE Research Administration Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the sponsor, the university, and the research institute.
This includes, serving as a sponsored project subject matter expert, including interpreting and communicating sponsor and university policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with internal and external sponsored project requirements; works with project leads to ensure deliverable due dates are met; compiles required assessments and reports and reviews all materials submitted to funding agency to ensure they are correct and accurate; reviews and approves proposal documents; and assists faculty with proposal preparation development and submission and/or oversees staff assisting with proposal preparation development and submission.
Works with the Executive Director to provide fund management, including, preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports to monitor and manage award budgets and ensuring appropriate and timely expenditures. Projects financial implications of decisions and provides options to the Executive Director. Prepares and submits documents, such as advance requests, budget amendments, subcontracts, etc. to Sponsored Research Administration/Research Foundation. Also responsible for preparing and submitting the reimbursement requests in the sponsor's reporting system.
Manages the travel, purchasing and Human Resources functions of the award, including, working with the Executive Director to identify needs to carry out the scope of work, ensuring expenditures are allocated to the appropriate source, personnel are appointed appropriately, and funds are best utilized in accordance with the award terms and scope of work. Works with the In SPIRE staff to ensure equipment fabrications are appropriately tracked and reported.
Responsible for managing contract and grant compliance activities for the institute. This involves serving as a liaison to the sponsor and all university central offices, including Institutional Research, Provost’s Office, Procurement, Travel, Accounts Payable, Vice President for Research, Sponsored Research Administration, Research Foundation, Human Resources, General Counsel, etc. Other duties as assigned as it relates to the management of the In SPIRE award.

Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience in a related science or research services field; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience in the same. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
