Victim Services Facilitator

Our Trauma Therapy Treatment Team is looking to add a dynamic individual to our team! The perfect candidate will be happy and upbeat! He or she will want to work in a team environment sharing administrative duties with other employees working the front office of a busy therapy office. This candidate will also love to interact with children and will share transportation duties, using our company minivan to take children to and from their therapy appointments (from school or home to our offices).
Qualifications: High school diploma required. A Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field preferred. Required to have experience working with abused/neglected children, and/or survivors of sexual abuse or comparable experience. Prior experience working with the social services or (law enforcement) origination preferred. Must possess the ability to handle confidential information appropriately; have knowledge of community resources; have the ability to effectively interact with families from diverse cultures; possess good verbal and written communications skills; have the ability to make home visits as necessary; have the ability to work flexible hours as required, as some work on weekend and evenings may be necessary. Must have current driver’s license and a good driving record.
Essential Functions:
  • Position to provide immediate emotional, psychological, and physical health and safety to victims of crime and facilitation of participation in criminal justice and other public proceedings arising from the crime. Specialist to provide transportation services for victims of crime identified by law enforcement, child welfare professionals, State Attorney office, or other community partners working with survivors of child maltreatment or sexual violence. Purposes of transport is to receive services to address concerns precipitated by act of child maltreatment and sexual violence, or to participate in a proceeding. Specific functions of this position are listed below. The position also includes additional functions as needed and/or assigned by the Administration. Strong administrative and organizational skills required to be successful in this position.
Primary Functions:
  • Provide an explanation of available victim services with-in community agencies, assess client needs, make referrals as applicable, and advocate for needed services. Work with the victim and family to assess the impact of the crime.
  • Provide in-person crisis intervention, emotional support, and guidance for victims of crime.
  • Perform transportation activities with identified victims to ensure receipt of needed services as a result the crime.
  • Provide support and referrals to ensure safety plan execution.
  • Provide assistance in filing Victim’s Compensations Claims including making the victim aware of the availability of the crime victim compensation, assist in victim relocation when applicable, assisting the victim in the completing the required forms, and any follow up needed. Assist with restitution advocacy on behalf of crime victims.
  • Set-up and maintain client and/or program files. Establish and maintain case management files on each case as directed.
  • Successfully complete required training and knowledge of skills to enhance abilities of position to include buy not limited to Victim’s Designation Services Practitioner.
