NOTE: This is an outdoor job, where you work in the woods doing wetland surveys in all kinds of weather.
Cordgrass is a Panama City-based small environmental consulting firm, hiring Project Ecologist and Wetland Delineator. This is a FIELD position. The role requires outdoors ability, technical skills, organizational and communication skills and ability to conduct strenuous fieldwork in a safe manner. We are hiring for both an experienced delineator as well as an entry level field technician.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Delineating wetlands per the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual.
• Assisting Lead Ecologists with field evaluations that may include tree surveys, endangered species assessments, vegetation monitoring etc.
• Conducting habitat assessments.
• Data entry, data review, and GPS use.
• Survey report compilation.
• Permit application assistance.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on challenging terrain.
• Ability to work safely in the field.
• Ability to learn to use Sub Meter GPS, as well as map interpretation skills

IDEALLY:

• Degree in a biological or environmental science field
• Experience with botany or wildlife expertise.
• Preference given to applicants with wetland delineation experience using the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineations Manual and Regional Supplement(s) and/or appropriate wetland delineation training or coursework
• Familiar with 4WD vehicle operation
• Live within 2 hours of Panama City, Florida.
