Job Description:
A Company Driver is responsible for transporting materials, or personnel safely and efficiently from one location to another, typically using company-provided vehicles. Their duties vary depending on the company activities but generally include the following:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Driving and Delivery of trucks to client
- Transport goods/truck parts or employees to designated locations.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of packages or passengers.
- Load and unload cargo when necessary.
2. Vehicle Maintenance:
- Regularly inspect the vehicle for mechanical issues.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and in good working condition.
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance checks like oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
3. Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain proper documentation, including mileage records, delivery logs, and timesheets.
- Report any accidents, traffic violations, or mechanical issues to the employer.
4. Customer Service:
- Interact professionally with customers or passengers.
- Handle deliveries and customer inquiries efficiently and politely.
5. Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, travel routes, and expenses.
- Ensure proper documentation for goods transported (e.g., delivery receipts).
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License for heavy duty vehicles/truck (Code 3)
- Knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Ability to operate GPS and other navigational tools.
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and staff.
- Time management and organizational skills to meet delivery schedules.
