Habitat for Humanity Asia-Pacific

Habitat for Humanity currently works in 14 countries in Asia and the Pacific (AP) – India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Singapore. Over the past 40 years in AP, Habitat for Humanity has helped 9.9 million people in the region build or improve the place they call home. Habitat sees housing needs increasing due to emerging trends that will increase the housing deficit, with climate change, urbanization and migration the three main drivers. Habitat’s new AP Strategic Framework aims to contribute to increased access to adequate housing for millions of people in the region by 2030.

Purpose

Habitat for Humanity is all of us working together to literally meet families where they live and partner with them to improve their housing. The life-changing impact of decent and affordable shelter is what unites us. We are Habitat, and we are changing lives! Habitat works together with families, local communities, volunteers and partners from around the world so that more people are able to live in affordable and safe homes. Our advocacy efforts focus on policy reform to remove systemic barriers preventing low-income and historically underserved families from accessing adequate, affordable shelter.

The Global Foundations, Organizations, and Institutions (GFOI) Team prioritizes fundraising efforts on professional foundations, bi- and multi-lateral institutions – all recognized as partners and donors with significant assets of $100 million+. These institutional partners have high quality designated staff and strategic program priorities with strict guidelines and restrictions on proposal development and grant execution.

The GFOI team is part of the Integrated Programs department, which envisions an interdependent global network that creates deep and lasting impact and demonstrates strong stewardship of HFHI’s relationships and funding to eliminate the systemic inequities and meaningfully address the housing deficit. GFOI also works closely with the Resource Development (RD) Department on its focus on strategic fundraising to support Habitat’s mission and vision.
