GEMECO is a packaging company engaged in the manufacture of tin cans for infant dietetics, beverages, meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, and other food products.
GEMECO’s customers include: Angel Milk, Alaska Milk, 555 Sardines, Argentina Corned Beef, Century Tuna, Ligo Sardines, Purefoods Hormel - San Miguel, Swift, Virginia Foods, and Youngstown.
PRODUCTION ENGINEER
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality production output and meet customer requirements
- Improve the department’s performance
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues
- Initiate and follow through continuous improvement projects
- Drive cost reduction programs
- Collaborate with various production departments
- Implement the department’s procedures and policies
- Lead team members and staff
- Create weekly and monthly production reports
- Candidate must be a graduate of any Engineering course, preferably with at least 5 years experience
- Strong leadership abilities
- Experienced in handling people in a manufacturing set-up
- Positive work attitude, trainable, flexible, hands on
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and can work effectively with minimal supervision
- Computer skills
- Knowledge in ISO, HACCP, FSMS, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, an advantage
- Attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
