The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for managing customer transactions, handling cash and electronic payments, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves operating the cash register, processing orders, and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:
• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders and inquiries.
• Provide accurate information about menu items, specials, and promotions.
• Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns professionally and promptly.
• Transaction Management:
• Operate the cash register and handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and checks.
• Process payments accurately and issue receipts.
• Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift.
• Order Processing:
• Take and input customer orders into the register or point-of-sale system.
• Verify orders for accuracy and completeness before processing payments.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and correct order fulfillment.
• Customer Interaction:
• Answer phone calls and take reservations or call-in orders as needed.
• Manage take-out and delivery orders, ensuring proper packaging and timely service.
• Maintaining Cleanliness:
• Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Cash Handling:
• Accurately count and handle cash and make change as required.
• Ensure the secure handling and storage of cash and valuables.
• Reporting:
• Report any discrepancies or issues with transactions to the supervisor.
• Complete end-of-shift reports and assist with cash reconciliation.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in other front-of-house duties as needed, including seating guests or helping with minor food preparation.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role preferred but not required.
• Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
