- Design, develop and maintain pipelines for ingestion and transformation of multiple data sources, taking responsibility for their monitoring, reliability, and documentation.
- Build, maintain and iterate thru operational software and video streaming performance dashboards, taking responsibility for their accuracy and effectiveness in communicating product performance.
- Undertake ad hoc analysis across the operational and performance data of a video streaming platform, reinforcing a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Work with engineers, architects, and analysts to understand their business-oriented requirements, as well as consolidate, improve access and structure operational and performance data.
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and accurate reporting on performance and support them in conducting their own analysis.
- Liaise with key stakeholders across the business to ensure companywide initiatives and strategy are being followed.
- Develop a rich understanding of key operational and performance processes and the tools used across experimentation and software development teams.
- Analyse performance and proactively recommend and drive improvements to existing analytics processes and tools.
- About 2 years of industry experience in data engineering.
- Previous experience in development and maintenance of data pipelines.
- Previous experience with creation, fine tune, and debug of performance metrics (KPIs).
- Proven ability of using industry standard data analytics languages (Python and SQL. R is a plus).
- Previous experience with GCP stack data tools (Big Query, Pub/Sub, Google Cloud Storage, Google Sheets, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Dataproc) and Apache Airflow.
- Previous experience with multiple endpoint's types for data collection (APIs, databases, message queues, local files).
- Experience compiling and organising disparate sources of data into value-adding formats (Looker Studio, Grafana, Tableau, Power BI, etc).
- A desire to develop and maintain an excellent knowledge of video streaming operations best practices, including processes, tools, and knowledge of the wider industry.
